Okay, this is getting frustrating. I seem to have "dropped", but won't really know until Dr West says if she's engaged on Tuesday. Meanwhile, I feel aweful. My contractions are still just as irregular as ever, but now they sometimes hurt, make me crampy, or make me sick to my stomach. Sometimes I can't really move when I'm having one, sometimes I still barely feel it. But my lower back is achy, my tummy's unhappy, I can barely walk, and the dogs are acting funny (clingy and more easily excited - both of them). So, is this prelabor? Or is it more annoying, pointless nothing? I wish I knew.
It was funny when I went to my parent's house today, though. You expect moms, sisters, or aunts to tell you things like this, but today, my dad told me, "I've seen that look before. You're having that baby soon." It was funny. he kept saying over and over that he just knew the baby was comeing soon. He even told me, "It's okay, you don't have to try to hold out for my birthday [Saturday]." I laughed, like I was really gonna try to not have the baby if she decided to come? haha!
Oh, yeah. And I have an appt Tuesday, which just happens to be a full moon. They say that Tuesday is the most popular day of the week for births, and that full moons also bring on babies, so we'll see. LOL. Maybe if I've progressed more the dr. will strip my membranes or something. Come on, Rosie!!

So, it sounds like prelabor to me. It sounds like the day before I knew I was going into labor with Jenna. I surely hope that is the case for you! Do you need anything? Just let me know. I'm praying for you!
Hey, well it sounds like it is getting close. Certainly the signs point to "go". :) With first babies they can drop as early as 3-4 weeks before delivery. When you go into active labor your contractions should be every 3-5 minutes and last for at least 60-90 seconds. Count your contractions from the first of one to the first of the next. This should go on for an hour or two before you go to be checked unless your water breaks or unless you notice a lot of blood. Then you should go right in to the hospital. Usually if you lie down to rest the contractions don't go away or slow down. Drink plenty of fluid and get lots of rest because when the time comes you will need the extra reserves. If it is more comfortable to rest or sleep in a recliner, I highly recommend it. Gravity is always good. Periodically you can sit indian style to help stretch things. If your back gets too uncomfortable, play like a cat and get on all fours, then arch your back up. it will help relieve some of the pressure causing the pain in your back. Don't lie on your back. Keep yourself tilted up on one hip or the other. And don't feel bad if you go to the hospital to be checked and they send you home. It happens all the time. Early labor usually starts in the low back and as labor becomes more active the pain will move around to the front. You will feel all of the contractions when labor is active. There won't be a any that you can't feel until you have the baby or an epidural:) So as long as you are having contractions that you don't feel it is still early. The average labor is 7-12 hours so even if you wait a couple of hours you will still make it to downtown Boise on time. Hang in there. It's almost beginning. Blessings, Lois
yay, baby!
so, do you want visitors after you have rosie? or not till you are home and settled in? and where are you delivering by the way? (i just realised, that i thought it was in nampa, but its in boise somewhere, isnt it?)
ps, its okay if you miss the babyshower because youre working on having a baby. :) ill forgive you. or if youve just had her. thats a good excuse too. :D
one more thing, prelabor or not, it at least sounds promising, like it is helping you get somewhere closer to active labor.
ah! Yay! Sarah told me about your blog, and I was like, "well, she's not in labor yet for sure b/c she hasn't called me!" You'd better call me! :)
I can't wait to meet Rosie! Hang in there!
xoxo
