I got a new way to walk...er, talk...?

Rosie is getting braver and braver about walking! If she sees something she wants, she'll just head out into the open to get it! She usually only makes it a couple steps, but if she is patient and really tries instead of just going, she can go 5 or 6 steps without too much trouble. SCARY!

Aaannd, I didn't want to jump on this too early, but she is starting to talk! Her first word, about a week ago, was "DA!" One evening when Bobby came home and I said "Daddy!", she started saying "Da! Da! Da!" over and over and trying to get to him. Now as soon as she sees him after work she starts in, and occasionally we even get a complete "Dad" or "Dada". Mostly just "Da", though. She also will call the dogs "Dah" (not da like dad, but dah like dogs). She'll look out the back window and call "Daaaaaaaaaaaaah". It's cute. So, even though she was doing both of those things very intentionally, I was still hesitant to call it "talking", just because I know how it is when people are like, "oh, my six month old says mama!" (Uh, yeah, they all do...mamamamamamamama...doesn't mean it's a word). Anyway, but then in the last two days she has appropriately said "Ow" and "Uh oh" (although uh oh still needs some work, it was definitely uh oh. My mom called it even when I hadn't told her she had said it before).

I just can't believe how fast she is growing up! She is very into copying people right now and associating actions with words. I think she would pick up sign language really easily right now, but since she's being so verbal, I'm going to stick with that. But it's so adorable when she sticks her hands on each side of her face and says "Aaahh!" or when I said "Brr, it's cold" and she put her hand on her face and made an "O" mouth. She'll copy hand motions (started waving last Sunday) and facial expressions/noises (especially if it involves sticking out her tongue, she loves that). She is just more and more fun every day.

But my absolute favorite thing that she started doing this week is hugs and snuggles! She's never been a cuddly baby, but now she will just randomly come up and lay her head on your shoulder, or fling her whole body at you for a hug. She's also starting to hug and snuggle her stuffed toys (which is neat to see that they are more than just random objects to her now). She will just throw herself on giant Eeyore and make cute little sing-song noises.

She is just blossoming all of the sudden!

Aaaaannnnnnndddd, my apologies for the worst English/punctuation/etc I've probably ever used in my life, but I'm too lazy to think/fix/edit/do anything about it.

ETA I forgot to add that Rosie is also "sharing" now. If she has something and you hold out your hand and ask for it, she will give it to you. GREAT skill for when she's getting into trouble!!
