Meet the Blob

So, I had my first appt today, and it was great! I really like my doctor and his nurse. He seems like a very kind and gentle person, but she's outspoken enough to make me do what I need to do - perfect! :o) And I had my first ultrasound too! (see pics). Sorry the picture quality isn't so great. I had to take a picture of the picture because apparently our scanner isn't set up. I'll have Bobby remedy that asap, but for now, you get blobby pictures of my little blob. The heartbeat is strong and fast (old wives tale says that means a girl!) and it was soooo great to hear it! My odds now go up to 95% of continuing the pregnancy! I feel like a weight has been lifted.

Now we're just waiting for blood test results to come back and see if I'm getting really anemic, or if it's just hormones making me feel weak and tired and poopy. And, of course, for the rest of the standard tests to come back fine (not so worried there).

I still don't want the whole world knowing, but we are going to tell Bobby's family and the rest of mine (my Grandpa, especially). Hopefully we can make some phone calls tonight. I can't wait to hear Bobby's dad's reaction! I think he'll be really happy. And we'll be making Connie a great-grandma too! lol. I'm sure she'll have lots to say about that! :o)

My due date did get moved up one day (to October 28th). That's going from the official measurement from the ultrasound, but they call it estimated due date for a reason. I don't remember the statistic now, but hardly anyone has their baby on their due date, and often 1st babies are more likely to come early. We might have a birthday present for my dad! haha!

Anyway, if you have any questions or something specific you think I should post about, let me know!

PS, the little peanut looks about the same from end to end, but the head is on the left in the pictures, and the part that looks like a hole in the head is actually the brain. Insert joke here.
